#63 Bus to Trocadero

Is it possible to take the #63 bus from either Dante or College de France and take it to Trocadero. If not, what bus route would I take if my hotel is on the rue Thenard.

Yes. Heading to Trocadéro you would take the #63 in the Direction Porte de la Muette from the Collège de France stop on rue des Écoles. Returning from Trocadéro and travelling in the Direction Gare de Lyon you would get off at the Dante stop on bd. St. Germain. Bd. St. Germain is one way west to east for much of its length which is why the stops are different.

BTW you can find a map of any bus route on the RATP (Paris public transport) site www.ratp.fr but only on the French language site.

Go to the site and click on %26quot;plans des Lignes%26quot; in the left column. On the next page click on %26quot;Bus%26quot; at the top of the page. On the next page click on %26quot;Choix du plan par liste.%26quot; Now choose the line you want from the list (probably the top one where it says %26quot;Lignes de 20 à 96) and click OK. The map will open in a new window.

As previously detailed, the #63--Potre de la Muette / Gare de Lyon bus route will serve your purpose quite nicely---point-to-point.

Once you arrive in Paris, one of the first things you should do is stop at a ticket booth at any Metro station and ask for a copy (or two) of the RATP%26#39;s free, %26#39;..PARIS--GRAND PLAN--Lignes et Rues..%26#39; public transportation map. This free, large-format (think Texaco road map) has a complete, color-coded, numbered diagram of the entire Metro and Paris RER system on on side and a complete color-coded, numbered, directional-indicated, approx stop location diagram of the public bus system on the reverse....each overliad on a serviceable Paris streetmap. This free map is an indispensable public transportation %26#39;..tool..%26#39; (as well as an energency %26#39;umbrella%26#39; in a shower or %26#39;cloth%26#39; for an impromptu picnic). Don%26#39;t leave your hotel without it.

My favorite on-line transport map is the interactive %26quot;orienter%26quot; map at:

http://www.ratp.info/orienter/cv/cartebus.php

It covers Bus, Metro, RER and the Noctilian night bus service. You can click on a line or destination and it and it%26#39;s connections are highlighted for you.
