A lot of the reviews I read for hotels in Paris will say something to the effect of %26quot;this was a good hotel, and the staff was very nice, BUT the place wasn%26#39;t quiet%26quot; or the place was too remote, or whatever. There are always %26#39;buts%26#39;. Then, more times than not, the people will say %26quot;we found a much better place with everything we wanted for X dollars less%26quot; but they DON%26#39;T SAY WHERE!
So my question is: where are these hotels? My fiancee and I are planning our honeymoon, and we%26#39;re looking for a place from the 22nd to 27th of May for approximately 250 USD /night. Any suggestions? Quiet and perhaps newly renovated would be fabulous.

that%26#39;s because it%26#39;s all relative... what%26#39;s close to one thing in Paris is far away from another thing... there is no perfect hotel and people have different tastes and expectations...
so just concentrate on finding a hotel for 200E that is in a fairly central area that gets good reviews ... tell the hotel you will be on honeymoon and seek a quiet room, they%26#39;ll know if the street or the %26#39;courtyard%26#39; is best...

Agreed!
I found my %26quot;perfect%26quot; hotel. Stayed there several times, then the clientele changed a bit, prices went up, my employment went down.....haven%26#39;t stayed there recently.
Also as I became more familar with the City I decided I liked to stay in, and experience, other areas. The last two trips I stayed in the 3rd and 17th. In two weeks I%26#39;ll be in the 5th
Have either of you been to Paris before? If not choose a %26quot;central area..1st, - 9th , check websites, reviews here, guidebooks, friends and relatives and ENJOY!!!

%26gt;%26gt;%26gt; Then, more times than not, the people will say %26quot;we found a much better place with everything we wanted for X dollars less%26quot; but they DON%26#39;T SAY WHERE!%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;
And the odds are that if they did, and you then looked at the body of past-guest reviews and comments for THAT hotel; you would most likely find more of the same that you found for their first choice. Bear in mind that there is NO single, objective, quantifiable %26#39;..standard..%26#39; that informs all choices. ALL past-guest reviews and comments will be predicaticated on the basis of highly subjective %26#39;..standards..%26#39; and informed through the prism of individual personal preferences, priorities, special needs, tastes and (more often than not) budget. One-size-does-NOT-fit-all.
Within your budget criteria--approx. 185-200 €uro per night (get yourself into the %26#39;habit%26#39; of thinking in terms of €uros rather than US Dollars...you can create $-to-€ exchange rate %26#39;..cheat sheets..%26#39; at most currency conversion web sites to assist you--http://www.oanda.com/)--you are solidly within the price range of Standard and Superior Double rooms at most good Parisn 3-star hotels and perhaps some 4-stars. You can then narrow this selection down by deciding which area(s) / general location of Paris that you might want to stay--Right Bank? or Left Bank?...Arrondissement(s) ? Neighborhoods ?....etc. applying your own prism(s) of personal preferences, priorities, tastes, budget, et al. as you go.
