Trying to arrange a nice day out for the two mums and a bride.....its either Paris or Brighton..
Thought eurostar to paris and a lunch....but where is easy from Gare du Nord?

British Air offers a day tour to Paris. There was a couple of different ways to do it. www.ba.com then check holiday. Have fun!

The Eurostar takes you pretty central, so anywhere is easy via taxi.
Are you lookin for something relatively fast, so you also have time to visit the city? Or do you prefer excellent food? What kind of ambiience/budget? Here are a few special occasion places I culd imagiine working :
Senderens- this place is all about the food. It will be memorable, but several hours long.
Cafe de la Paix - this is the postcard perfect cafe, the interior is elegant, the food decent, the clientele businessmen tourist mix and just out the door from the opulent Opera Garnier
Cafe de l%26#39;Homme - trendy place with a view of teh Eiffel Tower,
Jules Vernes - depending on your dates, on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower lunching with Paris at yur feet.
