howe much time should we allow to get to the airport from a hotel in VSM to the nice airport? Thanks.

I do this trip about a dozen times each year. By far the fastest way is to get the train which takes 16 minutes to Nice Riquier, the station near the airport. It is then about a 15 minute walk to terminal one. The route is not obvious but there is always someone to ask. Cost 2.20 euros.
If you have much luggage it is best to go by bus or taxi. By bus it takes about 10/15 mins to Nice bus station and then anywhere from 20 mins to an hour depending on traffic. To be absolutely safe, I allow about two hours for this route. Cost 5.30 euros.
Taxi will take as little as 20 mins, early morning or late at night, or up to an hour if traffic is very heavy. Cost 50/60 euros.

Woops! I was obviously half asleep earlier. The station near the airport is Nice St Augustin, not Riquier.
