Hi This might seem like a silly question but we usually stay about 12 days in Paris this year we are planning a stay of about 2o or 30 days. Do hotels welcome long stays or will we have a problem reserving we want to go in Sept anytime in the month would be alright.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

I%26#39;m really not sure the answer, but I would guess that most hotels would be glad to take your money for any length of time :)
Meanwhile, have you considered renting an apartment? For that length of stay you could probably do better pricewise in an apartment, especially if you stay 30 days. Something to consider if you haven%26#39;t already...

Bonjour Joey,
Without a doubt I know that most owner on vrbo would give you a good discount for such a long stay.

Joey,
We go for 30 days each year and always rent an apartment in the 4th. For the two of us we usually get a large studio or small one bedroom and it costs us about 1500 EU for the 30 days. Some (especially studios) are cheaper but we like all the %26#39;bells and whistles%26#39;
For this price we get a great apartment with washer/dryer, high speed internet and cable tv as well as a fully equipped kitchen - so we can eat at home if we want. There%26#39;s nothing like having your own little pied a terre in Paris, if only for a short time.
I highly recommend it.

Thanks all for your input. I would like to rent but my husband prefers to stay in a hotel. If i can change his mind i will ask for information on how to go about renting. Again thanks.

I pefer hotels, too... I%26#39;m not an outgoing person and I think it would be too isolating to stay in an apartment. Also, I don%26#39;t want to do dishes and make up my bed on my vacation.
For a long visit, I%26#39;d like to stay in two or three hotels, in very different parts of the city. I think that could be a fun and interesting experience.
September is a busy month, lots of events and conventions starting up. Any website with an %26#39;availability%26#39; function will take your booking (or not). If you want to stay at one place the entire time, you might email them instead of using the booking form. They might give you a discount that way, or include breakfast or something like that.

Thank you Travelnutty for some great ideas.Staying in a couple of different hotels is something to think about, also e-mailing them instead of using their form is something we are going to do. That is something we never thought of.
Thanks again

joey: without question, definitely deal with the hotel directly, not through any reservation system.
And with regard to renting an apartment, depending on your budget, you may be able to afford a great apartment with regular maid service (can be arranged through the rental agency or owner for you) for less than many hotels will cost. Just depends on what type of hotel you%26#39;re looking at, but even at a modest $150 a night, that%26#39;s $4500 for the month. I would imagine you could find a pretty sweet apartment for 4 grand for a month. If you%26#39;re looking at some of the nicer hotels at $300 per night, you%26#39;re looking at 9 grand, and I definitely think you can find a really, really sweet apartment, probably with a balcony or terrace on the river or a view of something for 9 whopping thousand bucks.
Heck, get a two bedroom for 6 grand and use the rest to fly me over and I%26#39;ll make your bed every day, cook you breakfast, show you around, paint your toenails.....anything you want. :)

I must...
For the hotelier taking your money and willing to accomodate you for 30 days, I can say, without a doubt and out of personal experience, that he%26#39;d rather rent 30 times for 1 night than 1 time for 30 nights... For many reasons, the first and most important being that people staying just for a single night usually don%26#39;t negociate discounts.
That doesn%26#39;t mean it is impossible but, and especially in september, decent hotels in Paris reach 90-95% occupancy, and they don%26#39;t necessarily need long staying customers.
In low season they would kiss your feet and give you a good 10% on their best available rate.
Then I would also deal directly with the hotel, not through an internet booking agency.
Last point, it depends a lot on your budget, the kind of hotel you want and the service you expect, if you are eager to pay full price (130-150€/night) for a reasonable 3 star hotel then it is no problem at all.

Arrow, you gave me my first giggle today. Thank you! I think that offer is a bargin!
And I agree with your deductions. Hotels are expensive for long stays. For that price, you could get a fantastic apartment, with maid service once a week. There are plenty of honest, reliable places to rent from, if you%26#39;re nervous renting a place you%26#39;ve only seen on the %26#39;net. I%26#39;ve delt with Parisbestlodge.com and they were lovely to do business with. Everything came off without a hitch and was even better than discribed.
Believe me, you%26#39;ll enjoy being able to grab a juice and crossant out of the fridge in your PJ%26#39;s in the morning, have a PC in your living room, cook a meal now and again when restaurant food has become tiresome (amazingly, it can!) or do your laundry the way and when YOU like it done. Besides, most of these rental places don%26#39;t just take your money, leave you the keys and then vanish. Thierry from PBL said to call him anytime if there was any problems or if we just wanted a good restaurant recommendation.
But if hotels are what you really want, the idea of staying at a few places is a great one. Left Bank, Right Bank, cheapie small places on the weekends, then a big splurge during the week! And if you wanted to travel a bit, then you%26#39;re not married to anything and won%26#39;t feel like you%26#39;re paying twice for accommidation should you decide to go to Lyon for a few days or whatever.
30 days! I%26#39;m jealous! If you want another slave besides Arrow, I%26#39;m available too! ;-)
