1st week in April will be fine for snow. i am going for 3 weeks at Easter time and have done so for the last 17 years and never been disappointed.

Ski school for a 12 year old you need English speaking try the Panda Club it is run by Evolution 2, nowadays, and is OK. they have a web site www.panda-club.com.

There is no skiing on Mont Blanc and I doubt your wife will want to climb it, I might be wrong but it takes 2 days at least.

Anywhere in the valley is dominated by it , if you are primarily going for skiing then don%26#39;t fixate on that.

If you do not have a huge budget I would go self catering and for convinience I would go for Argentiere. try www.grand-roc.com for appartments. Hotels/guest houses will be about 40 euros a night for a room. A studio will be 520 euros that will sleep 4. This will right next to the lifts. Assuming it is not rented of course !

Agentiere is at the foot of the Aiguile Verte which is 2nd highest after Mont Blanc and the views from the top are absolutely magnificent.

Hi,

We have an apartment/studio in the centre of Les Houches, just 5 km from Chamonix. So it%26#39;s very close to the Mont Blanc. If you intend to climb the Mont Blanc, you can just start walking from the apartment. It%26#39;s 200 meters from the ski lift. There%26#39;s a good ski school. In April we charge just 200 euro for a week.

If you%26#39;re interested, please contact me. My email is Marina100_@hotmail.com

Are you a good skier? If so, stay near to Argentiere (there are lots of self catering apartments close to the lifts). It%26#39;s got the highest pistes are therefore likely to be in good condition. There%26#39;s a ski school there. The Chamonix Valley isn%26#39;t cheap even if you are self catering, if cash is a major consideration might be worth waiting til the last minute and trying for a cheap deal (could save you a fortune - as if the snow is still bad it may not be worth going then at all!). You can get snow report on the Ski Club of Great Britain web site (don%26#39;t have to be a member).
