VRBO--apartment rental

Hi,

I have been doing extensive research to find a nice clean place for 2 people to share on a budget. I came up with an apartment that allowed less than a weeks stay for about 65 USD per night per person.

It%26#39;s located in Montorgueil. I%26#39;m hoping I could get input on this location and any feedback on opinions regarding VRBO rentals.

Thank you!

We rented an apartment we found on VRBO in November 2006. VRBO only lists the apartments and you deal with the owner. We had no problems at all. Ours was with PAris Pied a Terre in the 16th. According to the site VRBO will drop listings if an owner has serious complaints so we felt safe.

Thanks for the quick reply! I%26#39;m doing all of our hotel reservations for a two week trip with a friend who has never been to Europe so I want her to have a great time. I%26#39;ve never rented an apartment over a hotel before.

rue Montorgueil is a WONDERFUL place in central Paris ESPECIALLY for those who shop for their food outside the supermarkets. It%26#39;s possibly the most concentrated wealth of high quality meat, fish, bread and fish in the city. It%26#39;s a fantastic market street that we frequent at least once a week for meat, veggies and seafood. It%26#39;s a particularly Parisian neighborhood and is one of our favorite places in Paris. The cafés and bistros are terrific and there are dozens of them.

$65 a night is an extraordinarily great rate for that part of town so I%26#39;d ask a few more questions about the building, the elevator (if there is one), the location, just above a noisy bar that%26#39;s open all night, etc. In spite of those variables, the area is wonderful and you should put this rental at the top of your list.

If you could provide the VBRO reference number, we could definitely offer more help on the details.

Thank you so much for your advice. This offer is 300 euro for 3 nights so splitting between the two of us is pretty reasonable.

The VRBO site paints a very nice picture of the apartment and the area between Metro Sentier and Metro Bonne Nouvelle is a nice place to be in Paris (closer to Sentier being preferred). The Metro access is via Line 3 and line 9 which both skirt the most popular attractions in the city but you%26#39;re only one metro change from the core attractions. Seems like a good place to be in Paris. Unless the apartment itself is lacking, the location is good.

Thank you! I%26#39;m getting very excited about this trip!

You%26#39;re completely welcome. Nothing less for a fellow Seattlite.

When I was researching for my apartment, I stumbled on a few Phineas Fogg rentals. They all seemed clean, and when I inquired about one, I got a prompt response. The apartment I had been looking at was their Rue Cardinal Mercier apartment.
