Airfare to Paris

I booked my flight for Paris today on Best Travel Store www.bt-store.com. From Dulles(Washington DC) to Paris on British Airways...round trip.....$703 plus tax, etc. I fly on 6/19 to London...1.5 hour in London and then on to Paris. Return on 6/27 is about the same time layover wise. This is the cheapest by a long shot that I%26#39;ve found. I%26#39;m taking my daughter there for her high school graduation.

I tried that site fro MIA- ATH , which I have been searching for- the $757 sounded wonderful- but the taxes/fees are over $200, making it the same total $1000 fare I%26#39;m finding elsewhere. Are the taxes and fees for flights to Paris equally steep? I guess it%26#39;s inevitable.

I, too, am trying to book a trip to Paris from Dulles in October, returning from London and am amazed at how high the airfares are. Preferred a European airline, United feels like the steerage it is so tight on those planes. Your message gave me the idea of flying into London and from there to Paris. Just wondering whethr to book now or wait since I have quite a few months to do so.

I am looking at fares for June, also. I did find a very reasonable fare out of Houston to London. They layover is 1-1/2 hours. However, upon further investigation, the flight landed at Gatwick in London, and then took off for Paris from Heathrow. I don%26#39;t know how far apart the 2 airports are, but I didn%26#39;t think I could do it in 1-1/2 hours. I presumed I would have to go through immigration and customs since I would be leaving 1 airport, and then transferring to another airport and rechecking in. I don%26#39;t even know if this is the correct assumption, as I%26#39;ve never flown into London and then left to my ultimate destination via another airport.

Transfer takes about 1 hour travel time. Add to that time to clear customs, collect your bags etc and I think the minium connection time would be 3 hours. If you still want to do it with the airport change just select a later flight to Paris.

If its $200 in taxes...ie $900/person, it%26#39;s not a bad deal.

Icelandair on travelocity is equally as cheap with a short layover in Iceland.

If you are anywhere near the Canadian border then fly out of Toronto to Paris direct with a short stop in Montreal. A flight in April for example will cost you $453 U.S. That%26#39;s pretty standard most of the year. The airline is Zoom (flyzoom.com) and they only fly to a few cities (London,Belfast,Cardiff,Parisetc.). I went to Paris last March and returned in June for about the same price. The flight took about 8 hours and they served us 5 times. I would fly them again in a heartbeat.
