Hi everyone,
I thought I read that if i fly in EU countries that I cannot take a small case (valise) with me as hand luggage as well as my handbag. Is this true? I was planning to have a suitcase to book in and a small case to take all the extras with me, as I did last time I travelled. My reading told me that I am OK from Oz to London and outside the EU but if I do inter country flights in the EU then it is not allowed. if so, can I book the small case in as luggage (as well as the large case).?
Hope somebody can clear this up.
Cheers
Soobee

I think you *may* have it backwards.
AFAIK the only airports that are rigidly enforcing a rule that you may take *only* one piece of cabin baggage through security are the UK airports. This is an airport authority (BAA) restriction, not one imposed by the airlines. Provided there is room in your carry-on for your handbag to fit inside your carry-on bag while you go through security you will be fine even in the UK. You will probably be OK flyin from Oz to London (unless your aairline tells you otherwise. Check with them. If you are flying back from London then you will have to comply with te BAA regulations.
Otherwise the different airlines have restrictions as to the size, and in some cases weight, of carry-on luggage which you should be able to find on their web sites. I am not aware that the EU has imposed any more restrictive regulations other than on the transport of liquids and gels.
