Did I misread somewhere or may you get on a boat by the eiffel tower and ride it to Notre Dame? Then go and visit other ares,

Somewhat seasonal.... not a %26#39;taxi%26#39; - you buy a pass and go on/off at various stops along the Seine (their dropoff points, not just anywhere you want)...
