We will be doing a home exchange in the area of Montpellier and our hosts are of couse giving us information on things to do. Any suggestions of things to do that tourists normally are not aware of would be greatly appreciated. I am more interested in enjoying the area and the off beaten tracks then seeing all the tourist areas. We are coming in May of 2007. We will also have our 4 year old grandson with us. What a dream come true.

While there certainly are many things to do in Montpellier, I personally do not consider it a %26quot;tourist%26quot; destination. In other words, the Office of Tourisme is probably the best source of information on things to do in this area:

Often the weather in May is sufficiently warm to go to the beach. Your 4 year old grandson will certainly enjoy the nearby sands of Palavas-les-Flots.

Hello. I would be very interested in knowing how you arranged a home exchange. I envy your going to Montpellier. I spent a year there at the University and have wonderful memories of the place. Any information you can provide would be much appreciated.
