I am taking a day trip from Paris to Reims and I am wondering how I can get train tickets. Is it something I should buy in advance, or can I just get them on the day-of? If I do buy then online, how do I get them?

You can purchase tickets in advance online at www.sncf.fr. They don%26#39;t mail tickets to the US so only if you can get discounted (PREM) tickets then you can buy them and print them online. Just select France as your country and don%26#39;t choose the insurance option.
Or if there are no PREM%26#39;s available and if you%26#39;re staying in a hotel in Paris you can ask the hotel if you can have the tickets mailed there and held until you arrive.
I%26#39;m sure you can buy the tickets on the spot if you wanted to do so also.

This is copy-paste from a previous thread - I have saved it as I also plan a trip up to Reims:

Train to Reims from Paris Gare L%26#39;Est was 44 euro round trip, 2nd class. Takes about 1.45 hrs. Comfortable transportation. We made our reservations and bought tickets at Gare L%26#39;Est the evening before we traveled.
I made reservations first with Clicquot on their website. Their only English-speaking tour is 10am. We took the 7am train to make it on time. The caves are on the outskirts of town. TAKE A TAXI! It%26#39;s a daunting walk and you will JUST make it to Clicquot on time if you walk. Tour is great and takes about 1 1/2 hrs depending on how long you linger in the tasting room at the end. Cost: 7.50 Euro.
A quick, few block walk to Taittinger. No reservations required. We were the only people there and had a private, English speaking tour. I actually preferred Taittinger, maybe because it was private. Cost: 7.50 Euro.
We got both tours in by lunch time. A few blocks away is Piper. It was lunchtime, and they were closed for lunch until 2pm. It was August (last week), and the town of Reims was fairly closed up. By the time we walked to find a place for lunch, it was too far to walk back. Stopped in the center of town for a lovely lunch. There%26#39;s a replica of Notre Dame in the center of town. Wandered back to the train station and found a really nice walking street filled with shopping. Killed some time there and in the park before we boarded our 5:30p train back to Paris.
Lovely day! Don%26#39;t really think you need a tour guide, unless it just makes you more comfortable. Go to the Reims town websites, do your homework, make reservations at Clicquot, and the rest is simple. %26lt;%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;
