Sistereurope and Iroccafor mentioned there are street performers and artists at certain places. Can you or anyone suggest where they are located? Wasn%26#39;t at all sure of locations mentioned and my guide book wasn%26#39;t helpful.

Artists are located in Montemarte - Place de Tetre
I have seen street performers in front of Notre Dame Cathedral and some painters there too.
There seem to be many in the Metro halls and some on the Metro too.

They are in the metros to some extent and thereis usually something going on in front of the Pompideau .

We watched a street performer on the bridge to the Ile St Louis - I%26#39;m not sure of the name, but there are usually performers there...maybe someone else can provide better directions! :)

There are usually performers on the Pont St. Louis, the bridge from the Ile De La Cite to the Ile St-Louis. If you walk around Notre Dame to the east side opposite the main entrance you will find it.

In the evening there is an acordian player on this bridge which seems very French to me. And it%26#39;s not unusual for a band to play there - five or six members who play Dixieland and dress like fugitives from a Jimmy Cagney movie.

The square in front of the Centre Pompidou has a large collection of performers on any given day. There is often nice jazz in front of the St Germain des Pres metro station on weekend evenings.
