There are certain allowance/exemptions on liquids for medical needs i.e. insulin or in my case a %26quot;cooling gel%26quot;

I am going to check further to see if you have to have a doctor%26#39;s statement, etc.

Thanks very much for posting this site. It%26#39;s good to know.

Definately get the doctor%26#39;s statement.
I had a really bad cold/cough when we flew to Paris in Dec. It was one of those miserable ones where you can%26#39;t breath and feel like you are %26#39;drowning%26#39; :(
The TSA rules say that Prescription AND %26#39;Over the Counter %26#39; are ok if declared. So, I declared my sealed bottles of Nyquil and Dayquil at SFO - no problem.
I did not need to touch the %26#39;Dayquil%26#39;. So, I declared it, still very much sealed, at CDG. They took it!!
The only answer I could get was %26#39;the rules are different here%26quot;. I didn%26#39;t try to %26#39;fight%26#39; for it - it was only cold medicine. But if you have something you really need to get by/survive I strongly suggest a doctor%26#39;s note saying you must have it.
The rules are different, at SFO they let me on with the cold medicine, but took the lighter I had forgotten to throw out. At CDG, they confiscated the sealed cold medicine and let me on with 2 lighters - they knew they were there, they emptied my bag and then put them back in!

That is an interesting note about the lighters as I have always bought as souvenirs and had promised a friend a new one as the one I bought her 7 years ago is worn out. but then I saw the thing about the ban and was like Oh Darn.
I have a couple of sample packs of the numbing gel I%26#39;ll try and take through CDG that way if they won%26#39;t accept I won%26#39;t lose any money. The roll on container is not cheap and not covered under ins. so I definetly don%26#39;t want to lose that.
If I have any problems in KC I%26#39;ll just hand over to my sister and she can take home.
I prefer the roll on for traveling as if I use the lotion type I have to scrub my hands with soap and lots of water, which is hard to do in that trickle of water you get out of the sink in the plane.
