Can anyone please advise what is the easiest and most comfortable way to get to from Bordeaux to Le Verdon- for a group of 12 persons? Would greatly appreciate some indication of costs, for cabs etc.

From your mention of Le Verdon, I can only presume that you will be arriving in the area by some sort of cruise liner. (Either that or you are traveling by tramp steamer--Le Verdon is the container shipping port that services the Bordeaux area, and there is no other reason that I can think of for a visitor to be out in that neck of the woods.)
If this is the case, you might inquire with the cruise director on board--or, before embarking, with whomever is in charge of shore excursions at the shipping company--about ground transportation upon arrival.
From time to time, I have worked for companies who specialize in shore excursions in Bordeaux, and the companies will arrange for upwards of a dozen buses to take people around the entire region and return them to the ship. One bus is usually reserved to ferry passengers from Le Verdun to Bordeaux and back without any guided tour program in between--you are free to discover the city on your own.
See if this is sort of arrangement figures in the schedule for your Bordeaux stop. This is by far the easiest and least expensive way to get between Le Verdun and Bordeaux, however if I have completely misread your situation and for some reason are indeed thinking of going up to Le Verdun with 11 other people as a sort of day trip, please write back with more details and I will try to be more specific about transportation possibilities.
