non-package self catering

Hi

we%26#39;re a couple going to Corsica in June. We really want a small self-catering place in or very near Calvi, but are struggling to find anything that doesn%26#39;t come as part of an over-priced package deal. We%26#39;re not too fussy over the type of accom. but would prefer something quiet-ish with a garden or at least a balcony, and preferably not the shared-pool-type resort complex. However we are not ruling anything out at this stage! Can anyone suggest anything or anywhere to look - websites etc.?

thank you!

Lisa

If you search back on this forum there are various websites recommended for accommodation in Corsica. The only one I know is www.abritel.fr which was recommended by a couple from California we met in Calvi last October. I had a look at it and thought the selection of properties were really good, you could even stay in the citadel in Calvi if you wanted to. The Californians had rented a largish house in Calvi and were very pleased with the whole set up.

There are a lot of sites offering a range of self-catering. I agree the brochure places are over priced. The only problem is you take a chance on what you get by booking direct.

We got on very well with clevacances.com They have a code of practice written into their website. When we booked a villa through them we received an proper contract and conditions of lease.

We have also used abritel.

Also corsica-online.com and loads of properties in homeholidays.com

Hi Lisa,

We have a house in Calvi which sounds like it would suit your criteria. We rent it out privately and it has a garden, it%26#39;s centrally located but in a quiet area, and we currently have availability during June. You can see full details at www.corsicanholidays.com

Thanks!
