HI ! I am planning a trip to Paris, and based on other input, it was recommended to rent a car in Rouen and then continue by car. I will be dropping the car back in Paris once I come back from MSM...which is the best drop-off place in Paris for the rental car?
Also, we will be in MSM April 1, when the hight tide comes at 7:06 in the morning.....how long for the water to reach MSM from the posted high tide time? Any suggestions where to leave excess luggage? We are 4 adults, each with a suitcase, but we want to minimize once we leave for Normandy or to MSM, as I dread walking with all the luggage inside MSM....any other suggestions greatly appreciated.............

That depends a lot on where you will be heading for after you drop off the car. Absent any other info I would suggest Porte Maillot.

I%26#39;m not sure I understand the question. If high tide is at 07:06, the water won%26#39;t get any higher after that. In fact it will start to recede until the next low tide ~6-6.5 hours later and then begin to rise again until the next high tide ~12-13 hours later.

If you are returning to the same hotel in Paris I would email them and ask them if they will let you leave a suitcase or two for a few days. Otherwise the answer depends (among other things) on where your hotel is and how long you will be gone. There are left luggage facilities at some of the mainline stations in Paris but some have only lockers and you cannot leave luggage in those longer than 72 hours.

Thanks Rover.....I just found out that they did not have the Paris room available for us when we come back from MSM and that they do have a flat availbable for one night at Montmartre...so I guess it would be around there the best drop -off

Just a caution: don%26#39;t leave your luggage in the car at Mont St-Michel.

How many days do you need to leave the luggage for?
|||
You are better off dropping the car somewhere and taking the train back to Paris, rather than driving into the city.

Bayeux is around two hours by train from Paris--Gare st Lazare which also serves Rouen. No left luggage facilities . This nearby hotel does:

There are left luggage facilities at Gare du Nord, probably the closest to your location.
If you do not want to drive into Paris, you could easily drop your car at Porte Maillot on the western edge of the city. P.M. is only about 2km from the Autoroute from Normandy and is a straight shot from the exit. From there you could take the métro to retrieve your luggage and then a taxi to your Montmartre location.
Another alternative would be to take the TGV from Rennes back to Paris, but t In that case you could leave your luggage there and take a taxi to Montmartre but it%26#39;s a fair distance, probably about 20€-25€.
It will take you about 4 hours to drive from MStM by the most direct route to Paris but that takes you back the way you came. I would want to take a slightly more southerly route if I were going to drive back just to see a few different places...

Is it really that dangerous to leave luggage in the car at MSM? They said they have a security.....%26amp;^%(@(#%26amp;$^(@^
The return from MSM to Paris would be different, as I will be taking the southern route, is ther a drop off city for the car in between? Is Chartres on the way?

To MSM I willbe driving from Bayeux...is there a way in between those cities to leave luggage and not leave it in the car then?
