Hotels close to the Louvre

Any suggestions at all price ranges would be greatly appreciated. I found one yesterday that had some pics taken from the room that looked right at it, but now I can%26#39;t find what I was looking at. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Hstntx

Are you only there for a day or two and wanting to spend most time at the Louvre? It is not the area of Paris I would most like to stay in for night time strolls etc (not suggesting it is unsafe, just pretty dead) and it is easy to get to the Louvre from the other central Paris areas. What is your preferred price range per night - I assume for a double or twin?

Maybe you were looking at Hotel du Louvre...

a budget hotel in this area would be the Hotel Louvre Forum...

We stay at Relais du Louvre which is off to the side of the Louvre, one block from the Seine. Great location, great small butique hotel. Web site is www.relaisdulouvre.com The average price listed on TA seems out of line with rates last June and the new rates for 2007. We have booked to return in Sepember.

The Louvre area is good, but as Faux advises it%26#39;s more on the quiet side in the evenings. Just further up in the 4th district there are some very nice hotels and the location is excellent for dining and nightlife. However, if you prefer the Louvre area (1st district) I suggest you inquire at the Hotel Brighton. They have Tuileries view rooms (you need to specify this when inquiring) that give you a sweeping view not only of the Tuileries gardens but also of the Louvre and Eiffel Tower. Rates are reasonable (less than 200 euro) considering the same view at the neighboring hotels would cost at least double.

Thank you all so much for your help. And Hotel Brighten was the one. I%26#39;ve put it under %26quot;favorites%26quot; in my Paris folder. We also looking at Henry IV Rive Gauche. I%26#39;d love to stay at the K+K, but I don%26#39;t think it fits in our budget. :-(

This is going to be a belated honeymoon trip :-), so I%26#39;m looking at double occupancy rates.

Not sure if it%26#39;s within your budget, but the Regina is extremely close to the Louvre. We stayed there and enjoyed it, but it%26#39;s been awhile since we%26#39;ve been back. I do prefer to stay in different areas (5th or 6th) now.

Another thought is Hotel Normandy, which is right the near side entrance to the Louvre on Rivoli. I%26#39;ve stayed there twice and was happy with the room. It%26#39;s a three star hotel at 4 star prices, but the location can%26#39;t be beat if you%26#39;re a Louvre-lover. It was so easy to just pop over across the street when I had a few minutes to spare.
