One guidebook: Top rated seafood restaurant since 1890%26#39;s.
another states types of seafood, scallops for example which I love. another lists it in the Expensive category, another shows 40 euros, etc. no real good information overall. and some reviews I have found are over 2 years old.
However when I go to Goumard site and look at menu it just lists items. Appetizers, entrees. Even though I was on the English site when I went to the price that was in French and I did not understand what they applied to, plus it was overlaid on a picture of exterior and was difficult to see/read.
Since it%26#39;s been awhile since I have been to Paris I have forgotten how an entree is served.
is it just the menu item, i.e. pan-seared scallops and I order sides separately or does it come with vegetables, pasta??
I do not want the %26quot;prix fixe%26quot;. if they have that as I want to chose my entree.
I am trying to determine if it out of my price range. I am willing to pay for a good meal but not break the bank. I don%26#39;t want to spend my entire food budget on one meal.
and has any one eaten there and would you recommend? or is it pricey for what is served, etc.
I am going to be in Paris for 4 nights, I already know where I am eating two dinners (maybe one twice).
I have also eaten at le La Rochelle but since there was such a large group of us at the time my mind is a little hazy, all I remember is the scallops still had the foot (?) on them.
This is the web address if someone can look at the french version. I have dial-up and it takes forever for the English version to load and then as I said what I am interpreting is 60E a la carte.

Any information would be appreciated or a suggestion for another similair restaurant.
LOL I don%26#39;t do snails or foie gras.

%26quot;Entree%26quot; in French means starter dish and is not the main course, but the first course. The main course is called the %26quot;plat%26quot;. For fish, the most famous restaurant in foodie circles is probably Le Duc in the 14th. I never reserve in time, so have yet to go. I usually end up at the Bistrot du Dome, a small neighborhood joint behind Le Dome, a very famous, historic fish place on boul. Montparnasse. The BdD has very good fish, in a fun, vibrant atmosphere.
