Renaissance Paris Vendome or Hilton Arc de Triomphe

I will be in Paris late April and I%26#39;m trying to decide between the two hotels. I know the Renaissance seems more central and the Hilton is closer to Champs Elysees. I%26#39;m sure getting to the few points of interest won%26#39;t be difficult.

Has anyone stayed at both and prefer one over the other. Has anyone been in Paris and seen both, stayed at one and saw the other etc....and can shed light on this.

First trip to Paris so trying to pick a nice hotel. 3 travelling in party would like a suite but pricey so going with using points at whichever hote I chose and hope for upgrade to larger room.

Thanks for any information shared.

Location wise, Renaissance is a much better choice, close to the sights. Hilton is located in the middle of an upscale neighbourghood near Parc Monceau; Champs Elysees as well as Arc De Triomphe are a good 10min walk. Keep in mind than in Hilton there are rooms with 2 double beds, but in Renaissance rooms are smaller and if i recall correctly they allow 3 persons from a Junior Suite and up.

Have a nice stay in Paris!!!

Hi SJ,

I wrote a review of my stay in Dec 2006 at Renaissance. I loved it. I was there with my 8 yr-old. I do not know anything about the Hitlon. The Renaissance has a great location. We got around using the hop on hop off bus (L%26#39;open tour, I think). I can%26#39;t say enough good things about the hotel. My room was not too small, but from the reviews there must be some smaller rooms. For me, I wanted a hotel with a pool. The pool is beautiful, and it also has a steam room, sauna and workout room. Good luck, have fun! Lisa
