Transport Aix to Digne?

We are staying in Aix in April and want to take the Scenic train from Digne to Nice (one way) continuing our trip. Are there trains that go from Aix or buses? We were hoping to make the 1055 Digne departure?any links would be appreciated.. Looks like I cant make that time by train..Any buses? Also, anyway online to make reservations for the Scenic Train this far out?

I just ran a quick check and the earliest bus connection I could find (out of very few available) leaves A-en-P at 09:35 and arrives Digne-les-Bains at 11:25 so not much good to you. I%26#39;m not seeing any direct train connections though you can take a train to Manosque and a bus from there, but that doesn%26#39;t help in terms of your timing. I only checked for one day (Tuesday) and it is possible that there are different options for other days of the week. You could check at www.ter-sncf.com for your particular travel day.

I don%26#39;t know if you can book online. On the couple of occasions that we have taken the train we just showed up and purchased tickets. I doubt you need to pre-book in April. You can check the website at www.trainprovence.com for more definitive info.

Hey Rover, thanks much..Looks like a bus from Aix to Digne is the only way.. I wonder if the buses give eurail discounts? One more question:

Digne Gare SCNF and Digne Les Baines

Are these two different locations or two different rail / bus stations in the same town or?

I want to get my bus / train tickets but I need the exact Digne location where I get off the train or bus to be near the train station to take the Scenic Train to Nice.. Looks like I%26#39;ll be taking the 1425 Scenic train due to no connections to get me to Digne earlier than 1125 the same day.. No prob..

Digne les Bains is actually the correct name of the town. (Bains = baths. The town is a spa with thermal baths.) I suspect that most buses will probably go to the %26quot;Gare SNCF%26quot; (railway station) as that will likely be where the bus station is. In any case, if you have a choice of destinations you want the rail station.
