Hi-Please help...we are flying into CDG and are planning to train into Beaune. A few days later train to Nice and then back to Paris.
First-do we we get a railpass? Or just buy individual tickets?
Second-Is the train station from CDG to go Beaune or do we go into Paris? Do we need reservations?
thank you in advance!

Look at www.sncf.com where you should find the answers to your questions. The station for CDG is called Roissy but may not have good connections to Beaune.

HI,
I am a former Beaune resident who has made this trip many times. From Beaune, you take the train to Dijon where you then get onto the TGV that will take you directly to CDG. Train from CDG to Beaune works just the opposite, CDG to Dijon, Dijon to Beaune.
The TGV leaves directly from the CDG airport. Very easy. Be aware, trains are ALWAYS on time, so be sure you are too.

Buy individual tickets, preferably in advance, from voyages-sncf.com. Do NOT buy your tickets through RailEurope unless you enjoy being gouged. If you are comfortable with locking in non-refundable tickets, this page by MorganB will help you navigate the less than user-friendly SNCF purchasing process: http://tinyurl.com/qpdef
You will need reservations for all these trips, the cost of which is included in the fare if you buy from SNCF. If you don%26#39;t mind paying full fare you can probably just buy your tix when you arrive, though trains can get fully booked at peak times so it does depend a bit on when you are travelling.
AFAIK there are no direct train from CDG to Beaune. At best you will have to go into Paris and take a train from Gare de Lyon to Dijon and then change to a local train for Beaune. (There are a VERY few direct trains from CDG to Dijon and a VERY few direct TGVs from Gare de Lyon to Beaune but the likelihood of these fitting neatly into your schedule is somewhat remote.)
Good luck!

Just a couple of points...
1) The journey by RER from CDG to Gare de Lyon will take about 50-55 minutes not 15. For detailed routings and timings see www.ratp.fr
2) The easiest way to get from CDG to Gare de Lyon, as easy as a taxi and less expensive though with a slightly more restrictive schedule, is the direct Air France coach: www.carsairfrance.com
3) Minor point but there are six mainline stations in Paris not four — Gares du Nord, de l%26#39;Est, de Lyon, Bercy, d%26#39;Austerlitz and Montparnasse.
