metro

hi guys,

I will be leaving for Paris on Thursday and will be staying for a week. Can you tell me what%26#39;s my best bet on buying tickets for the metro or RER? I am staying in the Champs Elysee area and want to see the major attractions.

Thanks.

The books of 10 tickets (un carnet) are usually cheapest - but you may want the Paris Visite card, specially designed for tourists. It gives you unlimited travel for a set number of days. It%26#39;s a little on the pricey side, but it is simple to use. Available at any metro or RER station.

You%26#39;ll probably find yourself doing a lot of walking from one sight to the next. Of course there are also places you%26#39;ll undoubtedly prefer to get to by metro.

IF...you are arriving on a FRIDAY snd departing the following FRIDAY, then CARNETs (booklets of 10 reduced priced individual tickets---10,90 €) as necessary for the Friday-thru-Sunday portion of your visit and a weekly CARTE ORANGE Zone 1-2) transportation pass (valid for ALL public transportation--RER, Metro, Bus, Tram, Funicular, Night Bus--within the confines of theCity of Paris (and in a few places just a bit beyond) from FIRST TRAIN Monday AM until LAST TRAIN Sunday PM--16 €. The CO requires that YOUprovide a %26#39;..head-shot..%26#39; photo (ANY type approx size 1 1/4%26quot; x 1 1/4%26quot;) for the photo ID portion of the pass.
