We are taking a honeymoon in Sept for 13 days. We are flying into Paris and out of Dublin. We are torn about spending all of our France time in Paris or cutting Paris a little short to experience Provence. Any thoughts, advice?

Are you spending all 13 days in France? Have you been to Paris before? I dont think it unreasonable to spend 1 week in paris followed by Provence. You can catch the bullet train from Paris to Avignon or Aix en Provence in about 3 hours. I suggest renting a car to fully experience Provence.

I was there a few years back and spent about 19 days in France: six days Paris, four days in the Loire Valley at a B and B, then to the South of France which included Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, St. Remys and Marseille. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Paris that I went back the next yearfor a nother week. As a single woman traveller, I took the TGV to major spots and/or the bus. From my experience, you can enjoy an amazing adventure during those thirteen days. You can always plan another trip to Dublin but there is lots to experience. Mind you, I have never been to Dublin but it is on my list of must see for travelling.

NOTE: we spending about 4-5 days in France total. Then we go to Dublin and the Irish countryside for the balance.

With that time span, concentrate on Paris - if you want somewhere beyond the city, you could investigate a day trip to Versailles.
Enjoy the Guiness!

I usually always go to both, but I have lived in paris and don%26#39;t need to do it like the average tourist might.
But, I usually stay in Paris for about a week, then go down to Provence for 5 days to visit friends, then go back up to Paris for a couple days before leaving.
You can do whatever you want if you have 13 days.

By all means, explore Paris as much as possible but you can also take a delightful trip on the TGV to Avignon through a company called Paris Visions. It%26#39;s located on the Rue de Rivoli near the Louvre. I recommend this company so often, that it probably seems that I work for them but I don%26#39;t. I just think they do a great job with one day trips. We really enjoyed going on the TGV and seeing Avignon. We had a guide bring our little group to the train and another guide picked us up in a van at our destination. We were also taken to the Pont de Gard, St. Remy and Baux. All in one day! It was fabulous and gave us a tase of Provence--we plan to go back for a more extensive trip to Provence and the Riviera.
