Suggestions for boyfriend's birthday?

Hi! My boyfriend and I are from Chicago and we%26#39;ve never been to Paris before.

We will be in Paris from May 16-20 and his birthday falls on the 18th. I want to make it a spectacular day for him.

Does anyone have any suggestions of things to do, see, places to eat, etc that are unique and special? We%26#39;ll be touring the normal tourist places the other days.

We are going to be staying in a vacation rental in Paris, so I don%26#39;t need suggestions for Hotels. However, we are staying there for free, so if there are any suggestions to a day trip / Bed %26amp; Breakfast stay in the Countryside, I am completely open to that as well.

Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

a place I always found very nice is the chateau d%26#39;ermenonville 40km north than paris; this the casttle wherestayed the philosophe Jean Jacques Rousseau. This is an hotel and restaurant? I never stayed at the hotel but I heard that the rooms are nice, but you can on ly go to the restaurant of course which is quite good (I went several times) and not so expensive (I mean for a special occasion). By good wheter you can have your dinner on the terrace...this si really a romantic place. of course you need a car to go there and it will take a small hour from the center of Paris

Does he have any particular interests or hobbies? Paris has a museum for every topic it seems - photography, military, modern art, medieval artifacts, inventions, costumes, and so on. For something more %26#39;stirring%26#39; take him to the Musee de l%26#39;Erotisme,

which sounds ultimate-tacky but is actually a valid museum on the subject of erotic artifacts from around the world.

%26quot;..A singular place, devoted to erotic art in all its forms: paintings, sculpture, graphic art, objets d%26#39;art, furniture. The permanent collections comprise over 2 000 pieces originating from Africa, America, Asia, Europe and Oceania. Temporary exhibitions by contemporary artists and private collections. %26#39;Maisons Closes%26#39;. Every 6 months, two to three artists exhibit for several months...%26quot;

There%26#39;s a static balloon that goes up for an overview of Paris - it%26#39;s in the 15th arr, Parc Andre Citroen. Dependent on good weather.

Or take one of the %26quot;Paris Illuminations%26quot; bus tours in the evening...
